Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Leader to join our team in a fast-paced food service environment. The Shift Leader will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and managing staff effectively. This position requires strong leadership skills, a passion for the food industry, and the ability to maintain high standards of food safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the restaurant during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards.
  • Train, develop, and mentor team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and oversee the operation of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Assist in food preparation and cooking as needed to support kitchen staff during peak times.
  • Implement effective shift management strategies to optimize workflow and efficiency.
  • Conduct staff interviews and participate in the hiring process for new team members.
  • Collaborate with management on budgeting, scheduling, and operational improvements.
  • Ability to work late nights until 2 A.M on weekends.

Skills

  • Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within quick service or fast food restaurants.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control practices and cash handling procedures.
  • Experience with POS systems is preferred.
  • Background in fine dining or casual dining environments is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience in team management and staff training.
  • Familiarity with hospitality management principles and food service management practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards.
  • Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen management.
