Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager - Restaurant to lead our team and oversee daily operations at our busy dining establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant management experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves managing all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and fostering a positive environment for staff and guests alike. Prior experience in food industry management, hospitality, or culinary settings is highly valued.
Duties
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, including food preparation, service, and cleanliness standards
- Manage staff scheduling, training, and development to ensure high performance and excellent customer service
- Supervise kitchen and front-of-house teams, ensuring efficient workflow and team collaboration
- Maintain inventory control, monitor stock levels, and coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement
- Handle cash management, POS system operations (Aloha POS, Micros POS), and cash handling procedures
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health standards
- Implement quality control measures to uphold the restaurant’s reputation for fine dining or casual dining experiences
- Manage budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting to optimize profitability
- Lead hiring processes including interviewing and onboarding new staff members
- Foster a welcoming atmosphere that promotes hospitality excellence and customer satisfaction
- Coordinate special events such as banquets or catering services when applicable
Skills
- Proven management experience in quick service & fast food restaurants or fine dining environments
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen management, and food safety protocols
- Proficiency in POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling expertise
- Excellent leadership skills with experience in staff training, supervision, and team management
- Ability to manage inventory control and food production efficiently
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on hospitality management
- Experience in budgeting, cost control, and financial management within the food industry
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to oversee shift management and operational workflows
- Effective communication skills for interviewing, training & development, and staff coordination
- Background in culinary arts or hospitality management is preferred; hotel or bar experience is a plus
- Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
