Blaze Pizza, the rapidly growing nationwide leader in the fast casual pizza segment, is looking for an Area Leader.

Overview: The Area Leader will play a significant role in the growth and development of the company through superb operational leadership and exemplary guest service. An Area Leader is responsible for district leadership, operational support, and guest service for assigned restaurants.

Ultimately, the Area Leader is responsible for developing leaders in such a way that they are operating as a high-performance team that embodies our Blaze culture. This should be purposeful and happen every day through goal-setting and regular performance feedback.

Duties:

  • Provide operational leadership that includes adherence to best practices, restaurant standards, one brand one way and consistency across all restaurants.
  • Maintain a safe and great work environment where team members are recognized, can have fun, and be empowered to drive sales.
  • Sets the standard for guest follow up by the example you set when in the restaurant and using guest feedback to continually looks for ways to improve the overall performance of each restaurant and the overall district.
  • Facilitate and follow up on financial performance of each assigned location through GM P&L review and teaching and training the key metrics to the team.
  • Utilize company hourly/daily/weekly key indicators (including financial statements) to diagnose and determine intentional support for improvement in sales and cost of sales and cost of labor.
  • Report on each store’s performance with a clear and accurate picture of People Development, Operations and Profit.
  • Plan and commit to operational store visitations.
  • Partner and collaborate with the other Area Leader and Restaurant Support Team to provide team support and accountability to staff.
  • Partner with HR with employee relations issues that may arise, recruitment needs for company restaurants, selection of management candidates, and more.
  • Facilitate weekly meetings with Operation Leadership to ensure open communication about policies & procedures, changes, and announcements. Facilitates discussion, encourages feedback, and address questions and concerns.
  • Ongoing people development utilizing coaching strategies by collaborating, providing consistent feedback, and coaching for performance improvement.
  • Maintain and ensure proper cash handling procedures are practiced in each location.
  • Follow up and implementation of Operations Updates, LTO’s and Best Practices within the district.
  • Work with General Manager’s to ensure repairs and maintenance is managed and within the capital expenditures budget per location.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Multi-Unit Restaurant Operating Leadership, Fast-Casual preferred.
  • Ability to work 50+ hours per week.
  • Travel is required: Must be able to travel for up to 5 days at one time (air, car, etc. and weekend travel periodically)
  • Must have financial planning aptitude including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and P & L management.
  • Position requires prolonged standing (for up to 8 hours), bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products that weigh 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion.
  • Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operate phone, computers/tablets, fax/scan/copier, and other equipment.
