About the Role

Seeking a versatile, passionate Facilities Technician I, interested in making waves in an innovative segment of the craft beer market. The majority of our work is maintenance on mechanical equipment, however we also do building and infrastructure modifications. Having the ability to think innovatively is a plus. This position requires someone who understands and operates at the highest quality standards, ensuring their work executed conforms with food grade and non-food grade applications. Additionally the repairs should be made confidently and maintain integrity; both in mechanical structure and the ability to own mistakes if they happen.

Our ideal candidate is someone who is inclusive and can work alongside a diverse team and external vendor network. We work independently on projects as well as shoulder to shoulder with our direct team members.

Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a strong technical understanding of brewing, packing, and support equipment. Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more areas of the process.
  • Ensure maintenance areas are safe, clean and orderly. Ensure proper cleanup after completed maintenance work.
  • Maintain respectful work communications
  • Respond to production questions and issues and follow up as needed with supervisors and managers.
  • Observe equipment in operation to prevent/diagnose potential problems. Identify, suggest, and discuss solutions to equipment and facility issues with management.
  • Complete at least 90% of assigned work orders and PMs through our CMMS. Assign parts to work orders. Include communication/findings in work orders.
  • Assist in pump rebuilds
  • Calibrate wastewater pH probes
  • Independently complete PMs on Packaging, brewing, and support equipment
  • Assumed Facilities Apprentice responsibilities when needed.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous facilities or mechanic experience required.
  • Previous experience with a CMMS program a plus but not necessary
  • Previous experience in manufacturing a plus but not necessary.
  • Electrician experience a plus but not necessary
  • Plumbing experience a plus but not necessary
  • Sanitary Welding experience a plus but not necessary
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Job Details:

  • Location: San Diego, CA brewery or Milford Brewery
  • Salary: Commensurate with experience - Base salary and opportunities for performance bonuses. *Starting Rate: $27.50/hour
