We are seeking a social media intern to help further define and evolve the voice of Athletic Brewing Company across social media platforms. In this role, the intern will collaborate with marketing and multi-disciplinary creatives. This candidate will have demonstrated experience with content creation (video, photography) and adaptation for social media platforms and is comfortable in front of the camera. The Social Media Intern will report to the Digital Marketing Manager and work with the Social Media Associate.
Job Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Storytelling
Concept, script, shoot, and edit platform-native content - primarily short-form video - using iPhone and lightweight production tools.
Create 5-10 short-form videos per week with your iPhone that align with our brand's values, voice, and messaging.
Develop creative ideas that tap into real-time cultural trends, creator formats, and consumer passions.
Ensure brand voice, tone, and visual identity are consistently reflected across all content.
Collaborate with internal teams to bring brand campaigns, product launches, and key initiatives to life through social-first storytelling.
Assist in the production and editing of paid social video content.
Assist with creative productions.

Creative Innovation & Trendspotting
Monitor social platforms daily to identify emerging formats, trending audio, and cultural conversations.
Pitch fresh, innovative content ideas weekly to drive brand buzz and cultural relevance.
Experiment with new approaches, formats, and features to keep the brand’s presence modern and engaging.
Monitor comments and messages, identify opportunities for engagement, and help foster a positive and engaged community.

Publishing, Community Engagement & Channel Management
Assist Digital Marketing Associate with posting across social channels, ensuring optimal timing, formatting, and platform best practices.
Engage with the community by responding to comments, monitoring DMs, tracking tags, and identifying opportunities for engagement.
Maintain a strong, positive, and consistent brand presence online.

Comfortable moving from ideation to shooting to editing—often in the same day.

Skills and Experience:
Credentials: Attending University, prior intern experience is preferred
Strong understanding of social platforms, trends, and audience engagement strategies.
Excellent project management and communication skills.
Proficiency in mobile editing apps is a plus.
Job Details:
Location: Onsite at our San Diego CA brewery 2-3 days a week
Compensation: $20/hour
Duration: 4-6 Months
